Message from the President:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our next Board meeting will take place on April 23rd.<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be a a presentation on an important fire insurance survey<\/span> by Every Fire Survivor’s Network, as well as the 1st Distribution of Bylaws Amendments<\/span> recommended by the Bylaws Committee (2nd Distribution and vote on 5\/14\/26; see materials linked above). We will also consider a motion<\/span> calling for the County Health Dept. to investigate and enforce health and safety standards at “pop-up” street vending operations in the Palisades<\/span>. \u00a0All are invited.<\/p>\n

We have just learned that CD 11 will partner with PPCC in hosting a Town Hall\/special meeting on a date in May<\/strong> (TBA), to present information about a potential Disaster Recovery District (DRD)<\/strong> for the Palisades. Speakers with include Blair Miller, project manager with the City’s Economic & Workforce Development Dept., and Craig Bullock, CD 11 Planning Director.\u00a0 Stay tuned for more details to come.<\/p>\n

At our Board meeting on April 9th,<\/strong> the members of the Nominating Committee were announced: Lorie Cudzil, Chair; Jim Kirtley, Rick McGeagh, Chris Spitz and Kaye Steinsapir, members.\u00a0 The Nominating Committee will identify candidates for officer positions in the 2026-27 term, beginning July 1, 2026.\u00a0 The Committee will announce its nominees at our May 14th meeting, with nominations from the Board to open at that time.\u00a0 The election will take place on June 11, 2026 (the first PPCC meeting in June).<\/p>\n

In addition, the Board unanimously approved two grants from donations made to PPCC for fire recovery: $5,000 to the Pali High Baseball Team, and $5,000 to the Methodist Preschool.\u00a0 Finally the Board unanimously approved two motions recommended by the PPCC Land Use Committee, regarding 1) the mixed-use project proposed for 15113 Sunset Blvd.; see the PPCC letter HERE<\/a>; and 2) density mandates and evacuation evacuation in the Palisades; see the PPCC letter HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n
