Notice of Election Nominations<\/strong><\/a> (<\/em>information about becoming a candidate in the Area and At-large Election) — deadline to submit candidate statements:\u00a0 5pm on July 23, 2026!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

At our meeting on June 25th, 2026, <\/strong>the Board and incoming officers gave deeply appreciative thanks to President Sue Kohl and all the outgoing PPCC officers<\/strong> for their outstanding service over the past two excruciating terms.\u00a0 The President also gave extensive, heartfelt remarks on her service during this unimaginably difficult time in the Palisades’ history, thanking all who helped and supported her along the way:\u00a0 her fellow officers and Executive Committee members; Maryam Zar (outgoing Chair Emeritus); Chris Spitz (At-large Rep who assists with admin); all the other Board members and advisors; our Councilwoman Traci Park (who also attended and thanked the President for her service and partnership); our government representatives; and the entire Palisades community.<\/p>\n

The June 25th meeting also featured an important a presentation by LADWP on water infrastructure in the Palisades — <\/strong>facilitated by the Infrastructure Committee and moderated by Committee Chair (and incoming VP) Reza Akef.\u00a0 See a recording of the presentation HERE<\/strong><\/a>, and see the slides shown during the presentation HERE<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 In addition, the Board approved two additional grants recommended by the Grants Committee: to the Lowe Family YMCA<\/strong> (community BBQ), and to PAPA<\/strong> (the Parade) — see Grants Committee Page<\/a> for information about all the grants given by PPCC through July 2026 (29 grants totaling $455,000 in funding for fire recovery).<\/p>\n

Last but not least, as to the community-wide PPCC Election<\/strong> to take place later this summer: the President announced at the June 25th meeting that incumbents will NOT be running in Area One (JoAnna Rodriguez) and Area Two (Carole White); incumbents WILL run again in Areas Three through Eight and At-large.\u00a0 All seats are open<\/em><\/span>, whether or not the incumbent is running.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0 there is one meeting only during each of the months of July and August — on July 23rd and August 13th.\u00a0 On July 23rd<\/strong>, the new PPCC officers will take their seats and the candidates for Area and At-large Representatives will be announced.\u00a0 On August 13th,<\/strong> a candidate forum will take place (if there are any contested seats in the Election); other topics TBA.\u00a0 \u00a0See you at the PPCC meetings!<\/p>\n
