Awards Nominations Notice<\/strong><\/a> — Citizen of the Year & Golden Sparkplug Nominations Due October 17, 2026, 5pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

At our first meeting in October, on October 8, 2026<\/strong>, all new elected representatives and new appointed organizational representatives will take their seats.\u00a0 Our invited guest speaker will be the new City Engineer, Crystal Lee. We will also have a presentation on power in the Palisades by Resilient Palisades.<\/p>\n

Our last board meeting on September 24, 2026,<\/strong> featured informative presentations by PRIDE on a new median improvement project in the Village, and by the Evacuation ATF on the status of Evacuation Planning for the Palisades.\u00a0 A recording of both presentations can be seen HERE<\/a>.\u00a0 The President also announced the members of the Awards Selection and Event Committees,<\/a> and the Election Committee reported on the Election results\/vote counts.<\/a>\u00a0 In addition, the “3 Chairs” Committee’s nominees for Alternate Area and At-large Reps<\/a> were introduced and elected unanimously by the board.\u00a0 The Board also approved two new grants to Palisades Charter Elementary (PEP) and Marquez Charter Elementary (Friends of Marquez), to help support their respective fall events.\u00a0 Finally, we welcomed new organizational members<\/a> (who began their terms on October 1, 2026), and bade a fond farewell to PPCC representatives whose terms ended on 9\/30\/26.<\/p>\n

Please note that our second meeting in October<\/strong> will take place on\u00a0 October 15, 2026<\/strong> (advanced from October 22) — topics to be announced.<\/p>\n

And don’t forget to mark your calendars for our annual Holiday Citizen of the Year Awards gala<\/strong>, to take place this year on December 10, 2026<\/strong> — stay tuned for details about the awards nomination process and the event venue.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 important PPCC-NORC follow-up community survey<\/strong> closes as of the morning of October 5th.\u00a0 The results will be announced in due course, and will guide PPCC as we advocate community priorities during rebuilding and recovery.<\/p>\n
