Message from the President:
Our Rebuild Committee has a new, direct email address! Community members are encouraged to use the email to directly communicate questions, suggestions or comments, or to volunteer to help in any way. We will host a special meeting with Councilwoman Park / Council District 11 on August 7, 2025, with presentations by the Councilwoman and AECOM and updates on important matters of concern to the Palisades (agenda to come).
Our next Board meeting, on August 14, 2025, will feature an update by the Friends of the Palisades Library, and a presentation on SBA loans. The Board will also vote on proposed bylaws amendments (documents linked above). We’ll have additional updates as well as a possible motion recommended by the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils (WRAC) related to Metro’s project for a transit corridor in the Sepulveda Pass.
At our last Board meeting on July 17, 2025, we were honored to hear from Councilwoman Traci Park and state Senator Ben Allen. The Councilwoman reported on Palisades recovery developments and her position on the proposal for a County “Rebuilding Authority.” Sen. Allen explained the original objectives of SB 549 (his bill to establish such an Authority) and his recent decision to pause the bill. He noted that he is working closely with Councilwoman Park and assured us that PPCC and the community will be engaged going forward for input. The Senator made clear that our community’s views will guide any next steps. A recording of the meeting presentations can be seen HERE.
The Board unanimously passed a motion on 7/17 sponsored by the Executive Committee regarding the Authority proposal, which can be seen HERE.
The Board also elected longtime resident Bonnie Burgess, nominated by the Three Chairs Committee, as Area Three 2nd Alternate Representative. In addition, we passed three motions related to homelessness, recommended by WRAC.

Don’t forget — we meet once a month only in July and August. We’ll resume our regular 2x per month meeting schedule in September (on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month). All are invited to the next PPCC meeting on August 14, 2025.
