George Wolfberg Park at Potrero Canyon — Updates
PPCC periodically posts updates on this page to keep the community informed of the progress of George Wolfberg Park at Potrero Canyon (the Park). Ongoing matters that we continue to monitor include:
- Drainage and soil slippage (sinkholes, slides, cracks, fissures, trail damage)
- Gates and fencing (locking & closing mechanisms, height)
- Operating hours and enforcement (LAPD, Park Rangers, LAFD)
- Landscaping (weeding, brush clearance, irrigation)
- Park staff and service requests (graffiti, trash, emergencies)
- Park signage and use (rules & regulations)
- Coastal access (lateral trail & bridge)
- City & State updates (progress on all issues)
In the meantime, if you have concerns, input or observations, please email PPCC at info@pacpalicc.org.*
If you observe any of the entrance gates — at Friends Street, Frontera, the baseball fields or the mouth of the canyon/above the trail to Temescal Canyon — operating in a manner inconsistent with the Park’s official hours (open at sunrise and locked at sunset), please alert RAP and City staff for correction by emailing the following contacts:
For details about community outreach meetings regarding the proposed pedestrian bridge across PCH and the lateral trail to Temescal Canyon Rd., including information about meeting recordings, visit Coastal access,
NOTE: See information about the “Open Forum” (community meeting) regarding the Pedestrian Trail/lateral trail, which took place on August 21, 2024 (including links to a meeting recording) on the Coastal access page linked above.
