PPCC is pleased to announce the newly elected Area and At-large representatives:

Area One:        Bart Young
Area Two:        Kambiz Kamdar
Area Three:     Elissa Ashwood
Area Four:       Rebecca Lobl
Area Five:        May Sung
Area Six:          Lorie Cudzil
Area Seven:     Sharon Kilbride
Area Eight:      Andrew Wolfberg
At-large:           Chris Spitz

We thank all the candidates for stepping up to serve the community, as well as the many community members who participated by voting in the election!  The new representatives will serve two-year terms, beginning October 1, 2026.

The election results were announced by the Election Committee at our board meeting on September 10, 2026.  With over 80 persons in attendance, we heard an important presentation by LA Sanitation on trash collection in the Palisades.  A recording of the presentation can be seen HERE.  The board also considered and unanimously passed two significant  motions: 1) approval of the Two-Year Strategic Plan for PPCC, proposed by the PPCC Executive Committee; and 2) approval of a PPCC Comment on the Federal Block Grant Funding Formularecommended to the board by the CRCC (see CRCC information below).  A recording of these two motions can be seen HERE.

We continue to encourage interested Palisadians to apply to become an Alternate Area or At-large representative.  See the notice linked above for details on how to apply.  Application deadline: September 19, 5pm.

PPCC also urges all Palisades residents at the time of the fire (whether or not you have returned) to take the important PPCC-NORC follow-up community survey (see letter and flyer linked above).  The results will guide PPCC as we advocate community priorities during rebuilding and recovery.

Looking ahead:

Our next board meeting on September 24, 2026, will feature presentations by PRIDE on a new median improvement project in the Village, and by the Evacuation ATF and public officials on the status of Evacuation Planning for the Palisades. We also expect to hear from our tentative invited guest speaker, new City Engineer Crystal Lee.  In addition, the 3 Chairs Committee’s nominees for Alternate Area and At-large Reps will be introduced for election by the board, and we will take up a prior grant recommendation (for Fire Safe Palisades) that had previously been postponed.

On October 8, 2026, all new elected representatives and new appointed organizational representatives will take their seats.  We will also have presentations by Resilient Palisades and by proponents of a possible concrete “batch plant” in the Palisades.

And don’t forget to mark your calendars for our annual Holiday Awards gala, to take place this year on December 10, 2026 — stay tuned for details about the awards nomination process and the event venue, to be announced at upcoming meetings!

A reminder about upcoming PPCC meetings in 2026:  PPCC meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month in September and October (two meetings each month), and on the 2nd Thursday (one meeting only each month) in November and December — with the awards gala taking the place of the December meeting.

Palisades Strong!

Allison Holdorff Polhill
President
